70's Baby

Signs that you are a 70’s baby

  1. You grew up watching He-man, Transformers, Thundercats, Silver Hawk and Mickey Mouse. Not to forget Ninja Turtles, Mask and Smurf too. My Little Pony and Friends and Jam is a must for girls on Sunday morning.
  2. You grew up brushing your teeth with a mug in primary school after recess time you squattered by a drain with colourful mug. Remember the days when the school nurse, comes with a list for the dentist appointment, the sound of the drilling when your friend has a fill in his tooth.
  3. You remember the packets of milk we got in primary school to encourage us to drink more milk.
  4. In the secondary school, girls go to the library to borrow the romance storybook.
  5. In secondary school, girls altered their school skirt to shorten it and guys will go to the school appointed school uniform tailor shop to tailor make their school trousers to the then fashionable “ baggy pants”.
  6. During primary school days, the teacher will punish us using a ruler to hit your palm.
  7. A bowl of noodles soup costs only 30 cents in primary school days ( Yeahh.. and the bus fare costs only 20 cents then )
  8. When you were in primary school, girls like to go the bookshop to buy cute stuff such as animal eraser, sharpeners, notebok etc.
  9. Yaohan departmental stores used to be a fun hangout for families around weekend.
  10. In secondary school days, you buy the Bata BM Turbo school shoes, some guys like to wear those China made high ankle shoes.
  11. Internet? E-mail? What the hell is that? So you thought a decade or more ago. Your friends don’t have pager or handphone in school.
  12. CDs? Cassette tapes were the norm. Movie tickets used to costs less than $5.
  13. The goodies from mamak shop used to be Mamee, Ka Ka, Kum Kum Ding Dang choco balls, colourful hard egg, Chikadees, Tora, pink bottle of bubbles and small tube with yellow stick to blow lasting bubbles that you can pop more air or slam it on.
  14. You never forget “ main tikam “.
  15. When exams are over, the board games e.g (UNO, Monopoly) and hand-held games will be over the class room.
  16. Your favourite sound is the bell. It’s the homemade ice- cream man. The cream that tops Haagen Dazs. The pink colour ice-cream with eyes plus a wide smile.
  17. Another bell is the recess bell, time to get away from school work and to eat YUM! YUM!.
  18. Another time when there is no bell but all the guys anxiously waits for it...the PJ/PE (time for football)
  19. Your favourite childhood games were playing ‘guli’, five stones, Pepsi-Cola one more time, police sentry.
  20. The best thirst quencher of all times is the yummy colourful ice tube you can buy from provision shop. To eat it, break the tab and suck while holding the freezing tube, it’s ‘aiskrim Malaysia’ lah !.
  21. Once were the era where ice cream stick were valuable items then comes the paper aircraft and chalk fighting.
  22. Everyone envies the class monitor and his assistant, coz they the one who comes up with the daily duty roster, giving names to the teacher on who makes most noise.
  23. The elite group are the prefect, the one with the license to move around, they consider themselves above the law.
  24. Some boys made their own guns from wood and used ‘Bacali’ as the bullets.
  25. Watching some Japanese soap such as Oshin, Rin Hanekama, Chiaki, Moero Attack( with awful skills and stunts ), Miss Comet, Space Cop Gaban, Mospeada.
